The Airplane

Meet the Boeing Stearman

Arguably one of the most recognizable training aircraft of all time, we are proud to offer flight experiences in our 1943 Boeing Stearman.

The Boeing Stearman was a primary trainer mainly used by the various branches of the US military during WWII though the type did see limited use in southern Alberta with the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP) as well.

Our Stearman was built in 1943 and served its time with the US Navy at Corpus Christi, TX, before being retired at war’s end. Like most Stearman aircraft still flying today, it had a second life in agriculture as a crop duster in Wyoming before being restored (the first time) to stock condition in the 70s. This aircraft has been flying regularly in central Alberta since the early 80s and has taken hundreds of people flying since then!
